South Suburban Achieves Full Range Sound with Martin Audio Torus
For South Suburban, Apple Valley MN, a long-time client of AVE, sound quality and coverage was a problem. Fidelity and consistent SPL across the audience area were the goals for a new system. There were also numerous operational and intermittent noise issues that vexxed the worship team and needed resolution.
After long discussions and onsite evaluations, AVE and South Suburban chose to replace the loudspeaker/amplification system with a Martin Audio Torus left and right three box arrays along with three of Martin's passive cardioid, 18" flyable subs.
"For the shape and size of this room, the constant curvature Torus product enabled us to achieve line-array SPL uniformity front to back while keeping the overall budget within bounds. Plus, they sound spectacular!" - Karl Selander, design engineer for AVE.
Alongside the loudspeakers and Martin Audio's iKON DSP amplifiers, AVE addressed the remaining reliability and operational issues by installing a QSC Q-sys DSP/Control system. This system currently ensures safe and organized sound distribution and control. Over time, the Q-sys will expand to include integrated preset control for South Suburban's audio, video, and lighting systems.
