AVE PRIVACY POLICY

Audio Video Electronics, Inc. (“AVE,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. This policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard information related to our IP-based phone system, including voice calls and SMS/text messaging services. It applies to all customers, prospects, and other individuals who communicate with AVE via text message or our phone system.
Effective Date: January 1, 2026 Last Updated: March 24, 2026

Information We Collect

When you contact AVE or provide your phone number in the course of doing business with us, we may collect:

  • Your mobile or other phone number

  • The content of text messages or SMS you send to us (or that we send to you)

  • Metadata associated with communications (such as date, time, and delivery status)

  • Any additional information you voluntarily include in a text message (e.g., questions about our audio, video, lighting products, services, or installations)

We collect this information only through our phone system when you initiate contact or when we respond at your request.

How We Use Text Messaging and Phone Communications

Text messaging and our IP-based phone system are used strictly to support our customers and facilitate business communications. Specifically:

  • Texting begins only when a customer initiates contact with an AVE employee or representative (for example, by texting our published business number or replying to a prior conversation).

  • Texting is used by AVE representatives to provide customer support when you have asked for assistance.

  • Messaging is used to answer consumer concerns or questions about our products and services, such as audio-visual system design, lighting integration, installation details, troubleshooting, quotes, or project updates.

  • Texting may be used internally and externally for more casual, conversational follow-up related to the ongoing matter you initiated. While these conversations are typically started by the customer, AVE employees may initiate a text in limited circumstantial situations (e.g., to confirm details, provide timely project updates, or respond to an urgent matter) only if you have previously given permission for such contact.

We do not use text messaging for unsolicited marketing, promotional offers, or sales outreach unless you have separately and expressly consented to such communications.

Consent to Contact via Text or Phone

By texting AVE or providing your phone number and requesting that we communicate with you via text (for example, by replying to an employee or initiating a conversation), you consent to receive text messages from AVE related to the customer support, product/service inquiries, or project matters you raised.

You further understand that:

  • Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile carrier plan.

  • Consent to receive texts is not a condition of purchasing any goods or services from AVE.

  • We may use third-party service providers (our IP phone system vendor and carriers) to transmit and store these communications.

Opting Out of Text Messages

You may opt out of receiving future text messages from AVE at any time by replying STOP to any text message we send you. Once we process your opt-out request, we will no longer send you text messages (except for a single confirmation message if required by our system).

If you wish to re-initiate texting in the future, you may simply text us again to start a new conversation, which will constitute fresh consent for that interaction.

Sharing and Disclosure of Information

We do not sell or rent your phone number or text message content to third parties for marketing purposes.

We may share your information with:

  • Our IP-based phone system provider and other service providers who assist in delivering and storing voice and text communications (these vendors are contractually obligated to protect your data).

  • Professional advisors or as required by law (e.g., court order or government request).

We do not share message content with unrelated third parties except as necessary to provide the service you requested.

Data Security

We take reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect the information collected through our phone and texting system. However, no electronic transmission or storage method is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Data Retention

We retain text message content and related metadata only as long as reasonably necessary to fulfill the purpose for which you contacted us, to provide ongoing customer support, to maintain business records, or as required by law. Message history is typically retained for a limited period and then securely deleted or archived.

Your Rights

Depending on your location (including rights under the Minnesota Consumer Data Privacy Act or other applicable state laws), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete certain personal information we hold about you. To exercise these rights, please contact us using the information below.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the revised version on our website with an updated “Effective Date.” Continued use of our texting services after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
