Audio and Control Updates at Benilde St. Margaret's
A loudspeaker refresh for the gymnatorium along with an integrated touchpad control system.
Responding to complaints of sound quality and usability, this project upgrades this Catholic high school's Great Hall (gymnasium/auditorium) sound system and unifies control of both the Great Hall and adjacent theater.
The core improvement is a new three-cabinet Martin Audio Taurus constant-curvature line array (two T1215 + one T1230) flown over the front of the presentation area, powered by a Martin Audio IK41-DANTE four-channel amplifier. Paired with an Allen & Heath QU-5D 32-channel digital mixer with Dante, the new system delivers clearer speech intelligibility and substantially higher, more even volume throughout the space while reusing existing bleacher-fill loudspeakers.
A Q-SYS Core 24F processor located in the Theater AV booth now provides consolidated DSP, processing, and preset control for both rooms. Operators gain simple, programmable touchscreen interfaces (7-inch desktop units in each booth plus 5-inch wall units at the entrances) for system power sequencing, preset recall, and basic video routing. Network switches, DMX wall plates, and AV-over-IP components complete the integrated solution.
The result is a noticeably clearer and more powerful Great Hall sound system under a single, intuitive control platform that serves both spaces.
