The JBL Professional CBT 70J-1 is a compact column line array engineered for consistent coverage in challenging rooms. Its Constant Beamwidth Technology delivers controlled directivity up to the highest frequencies, while the J-shaped array provides asymmetrical vertical coverage to balance front-to-back levels. A switchable voicing network lets you choose between speech/music voicing for dialog presence or a flatter response for full-range program. Installation is straightforward thanks to the included pan/tilt wall bracket, and the cabinet’s fiberglass-reinforced ABS with painted aluminum grille stands up to busy venues. Rated IP-55 outdoor capable when used with the optional terminal panel cover, it’s suitable for courtyards, concourses, and sanctuaries as well as lecture halls and lobbies. The 16 × 1" HF drivers and 4 × 5" LF drivers present an 8-ohm load that works with standard installed amplifiers, while wide 150° horizontal coverage minimizes the number of speakers required across a space. At 27.4 × 6.7 × 9.3 inches (694 × 170 × 237 mm) and 21 lb (9.5 kg), it’s a tidy, architectural fit that disappears visually yet projects with authority. For extended low-frequency output and pattern control, pair it with the CBT 70JE-1 extension.
