The Allen & Heath QU-16C is a compact, rackmountable digital mixer designed for small-to-mid venues, houses of worship, corporate AV, and mobile production. The Chrome Edition hardware enhances visibility and ergonomics with high-contrast encoders and legends to speed up operation in dim environments. A bright 5-inch touchscreen anchors the workflow for metering, RTA/spectrogram, FX, and routing, while motorized 100mm faders jump to stored scenes and “sends-on-faders” mixes so you can build monitor mixes fast and accurately. Under the hood, you get 16 mono mic/line inputs plus 3 stereo line inputs, backed by AnaLOGIQ™ recallable preamps and full per-channel processing—HPF, gate, 4-band parametric EQ, compressor, and delay—ready at power-up.
 
For capture and streaming, QU-16C offers two clean paths: Qu-Drive for 18-track direct recording/playback to a USB drive and class-compliant USB audio (24×22) to Mac/PC for multitrack sessions in your DAW. Engineers have 12 mixes (4 mono, 3 stereo, LR) plus 4 stereo FX engines with dedicated returns, and AES digital out for modern PA integration. Built-in Automatic Mic Mixing (AMM) smooths panel discussions and spoken-word events without extra hardware, while scene memories and recall filters make it easy to standardize show files across rooms or rental inventory.
 
Expansion and control are straightforward: the dSNAKE port connects remote AudioRacks like AB168, AR2412, and AR84 via a single Cat cable up to 100 meters. Add the Qu-Pad iPad app for wireless control on stage or across the venue. The result is a reliable 16-channel digital mixer that’s quick to deploy, easy to teach, and stable night after night—ideal for FOH, monitors, and multitrack recording in one compact frame.
