Introduction
Nowhere is sound quality as important as in a Musical Education and Performance environment. For that reason AVE was honored to be selected as the audio and video specialists for the newly constructed MacPhail Center for Music.
AVE provided school sound systems, digital signage, distributed sound systems, classroom video projection systems, peformance hall sound and video systems.
Acoustics
AVE studied the space using EASE 4.1 computer modeling for speaker design and loudspeaker coverage.
Audio
The centerpiece for performances at MacPhail is the beautiful Antonello Hall. The performance hall is outfitted with a Digidesign VENUE mixing console with ProTools integration. It also features a left-center-right loudspeaker system which accommodates either in-the- round or auditorium seating.
Video
Flat panel digital signage near each elevator are all controlled by a simple and easy to use Creston touch screen panel. This incredibly versatile system offers countless applications. The flat screens can be used to direct students to classrooms, or to broadcast events from Antonello hall. Every screen has its own feed, and can even be broken into multiple segments. This incredibly versatile system offers countless applications. The digital signage system operates from an IP based software application that can time out events, distribute multiple windows to each display and seperate content from room to room. Several classrooms are also outfitted with multi-media and sound systems for classroom instruction.
Lighting
AVE worked with the architect to design theatrical stage lighting that would integrate with the architectural lighting to form a cohesive system in Antonello Hall.
